I’m giving Blogger a try. I get to put in Javascript and 3rd party widgets without having to pay extra for the privilege. Got all my articles and comments over. Had to redo the blogroll by hand. Looks like the recommended reading page is just going to be outright gone. I doubt anyone looks at it anyway.
Kept the name “Grokking Code“, so feel free to take a look.
Edit: Recommended reading isn’t entirely gone in for the Blogger version. It has morphed into an Amazon widget. I was also concerned about the page views reporting WordPress provides, but Blogger lets you use Google Analytics, so that’s a non-issue. The lack of separating your article into teaser and full length is annoying, but I can work with it.
Edit 2: I just can’t get past the lack of a teaser blurb on blogger articles. WordPress certainly strikes me as the better platform, but the free WordPress.com blog has too many restrictions. Will probably move to Drupal site soon.
Edit 3: March 26, 2010 – Finally have life back under control enough to get back to this. Setting up grokkingcode.com using WordPress on a hosting account. Will move old articles over as soon as the initial setup is complete.
